Election Day gets off to smooth start. Today Texans vote on an amendment to the state constitution to ban same-sex marriage. It angers me that a church can endorse voting for this proposition to “preserve family values” yet fail to see anything wrong with waging war against the people of Iraq.
Same-sex marriage already is outlawed by state law. Those who support Prop 2 say a constitutional ban is necessary to ensure that a judge doesn’t decide to allow gays to marry.
Decided to vote for Ferrer after all. A long shot for sure, but I knew it definitely wasn’t gonna be Bloomberg based on his accomplishments:
- Brought the RNC to NYC and continues to voice support for the war in Iraq.
- Backed NYPD when RNC protesters were unfairly arrested and jailed.
- Announced his support for gay marriage while blocking it in appeals court.
- Tried to give away public property to the Jets for the West Side Stadium at a ridiculously discounted price. Stealing half a billion dollars outright would land anyone else a hefty prison sentence.
Just in case you forgot. And the $400 real estate tax rebate is a trick pulled straight out of the Bush playbook.
