I wanted to print a copy of my tax return with SSNs redacted. This should be much easier to do at no/low cost. Black sharpie isn’t reliable. Paying for the premium Acrobat product is overkill. Entrusting an unknown web site with your sensitive data seems like a terrible idea.
Here is a low tech and free way to do this in Windows.
- Open the PDF doc in a browser, Acrobat reader, etc.
- Copy a snapshot using Windows-shift-S.
- Paste into Paint.
- Redact as needed.
- Print from Paint.
