Sunrocket flames out?

Internet Phone Company Halts Operations. Whoa. Looks like I lucked out big time. Was doing everything I could to switch to Sunrocket a few months ago as their prepaid deal was very attractive. ISP was having frequent outages at the time, however, so I cancelled service and returned the VOIP equipment during the trial period. Sunrocket flames out?

WordPress 2.2 upgrade

New version of WordPress is out apparently, and I was prompted to upgrade this morning. Doing so caused special characters to appear as unreadable. YUCK. Had to give myself a quick MySQL refresher while rolling everything back. Exporting posts before upgrading and then reimporting them into a brand new installation seems to have worked fine, WordPress 2.2 upgrade

Domain transfer

Completed a transfer of domain registrar today, which I have been intending to do for over a year. Network Solutions domain registration is way overpriced, and I get private registration at no additional charge with 1&1. Looks like Yahoo changed the format of its weather page recently and added the usual warning against repurposing its data. Boo! T-Mobile is going to start charging for incoming text messages next month anyways so I will just have to get the forecast online or on tv like everyone else. Had to fax some financial

Finally hopped on the HDTV wagon this weekend. My little experiment worked exactly as I had hoped. Analog OTA reception where we live is lousy for UHF channels so I am basically paying $24/month to watch WB or Fox without snow or ghosts. HD broadcasts for both VHF and UHF channels look absolutely gorgeous using

Just in time for fantasy playoffs, my scoring update pager (Perl) is ready for testing this weekend. There seems to be a restriction on SMTP relaying on this server so I am using the mailer in PHP for now.
