Redundant systems at my reach, pre-registered with Ticketmaster, calendar marked, cell phone alarm set. Regular weekly meeting gets rescheduled to now. No problem thanks to good ‘ol wi-fi. Domain transfer

Completed a transfer of domain registrar today, which I have been intending to do for over a year. Network Solutions domain registration is way overpriced, and I get private registration at no additional charge with 1&1. The transfer took only four days, which is very fast, but it also had the unfortunate side effect of Domain transfer

Blog is in da house

It is done. I transferred nearly six years of entries into the new blog. Wrote a Perl script to parse the content from the original templates and generated a bunch of RSS files, which could be imported into WordPress. The toughest part was categorizing the entries, which wasn’t absolutely necessary, but it gave me the Blog is in da house

Site is long overdue for a redesign. Way too functional and utterly lacking in aesthetics. Enough of the hand-rolled Perl stuff. I’m working on importing everything into a WordPress blog, which I hope to roll out by the end of the month.
